.....it pours.....and sometimes it floods...
Anyone who is not on city sewer, probably has a good story about the exciting adventures of septic tanks. Ours is probably no different, except that it's never happened to us before (and I hope it never happens again). Fortunately it was nothing "major", but because of all of the rain that we've had over the last several weeks, one of our field lines flooded.
Ronnie is the one who noticed the flooding in the yard and had someone come check it out. Me, I was busy planning our long-awaited vacation to Disney World (or Mickey's house as Joshua calls it). Even after Ronnie told me about the initial concern, I was still planning. I had no idea that the cost of fixing anything related to a septic tank could amount to the cost of a Disney vacation! But it does....

Anyway, the cost of a Disney vacation and lots of digging later, our field lines are fixed and we are again saving for our long-awaited Disney vacation. I am very thankful that Ronnie saw the problem to begin with and it wasn't worse or cost us any more. In addition to this, we may be getting a new washing machine. Did you know that a washing machine that is not "energy star" or "energy efficient" uses about 55 gallons of water for one load of laundry? So, we are researching the energy efficient washers and hope to buy one soon.
Joshua, of course, thought it was so much fun to play in the dirt. He just played, and ran, and jumped, and rolled, and was filthy from head to toe! (oh...to be 4 years old!) One of the guys even let him help drive the backhoe.
