We returned from our vacation in Virginia last week, but this week has flown by with all of us trying to get back into our routine. Here's a little video montage of our trip. We had a great time and really enjoyed visiting with my family. Love to you all and hope to see you again very soon!

From our garden
This morning Joshua and I went out to pick the lone cucumber. We have several other blooms, so surely there will be more cucumbers.
Joshua is getting to the age where he wants to pick out his own clothes and/or stay in his pajamas. Thus the Curious George pajama top!
He was just itching to pick one of the tomatoes!

A sad day
Today was a sad day at our house. We had to let our little Peanut go....Peanut had been very sick for several weeks now. We took her to the vet, but she just couldn't find anything in particular wrong with Peanut. She suspected something was wrong with her kidneys or possibly her digestive tract because Peanut could not eat anything. When she did try to eat, she would become very sick.
Peanut had a surgery about two years ago to remove some kidney stones. The recovery was very hard on Peanut and we really weren't sure if she would ever recover. She did eventually get better, but she was never quite the same. So, when the vet suggested a surgery to investigate the problem, we made the decision not to subject her to that again. The vet did give her some medicine to help with her nausea, but it did not fix the problem. Last Friday, the vet examined Peanut again and expressed concern because of swelling in Peanut's lymph nodes. Shelby had the same symptoms. Although she could not confirm the diagnosis without further testing, she was fairly certain that Peanut had some type of cancer. Ronnie made the arrangements for today and we spent the last few days loving on Peanut.
Peanut was such a gentle, loving dog. She will be greatly missed.
