It was a great week of acting camp. Joshua and Tristin had a blast!
There were about 25 children in the camp, ages 6-12. The instructor, Chris Parker, divided them into groups of 5. Joshua's group had five boys, ages 6-11. The first couple of days of camp were to learn about the stage, backstage, props, and how to come up with characters. Then each group worked on developing their own skit. Chris helped each group clean up the skit, keep the storyline moving, and keep the skit to about five minutes.
Joshua's group worked on a Pirates theme and I think it turned out great! Of course, it was the best of the night!
We look forward to camp again next summer!

Star Student
If you haven't heard me say it before, Joshua is the smartest boy in the world!
I'm proud of him for so many reasons, but just to name a few today:
1. He was named Star Student of the Month for his class
2. He's gotten an E+ on his spelling test for the last 4 weeks
3. He's very sweet with his baby sister
4. He's a great artist
5. He has a very tender, loving heart

.... I could go on and on, but let me just say that I love Joshua to infinity and beyond and I'm so very, very proud of him.
Here's an example of his art work:
A couple of weeks ago, Mrs. D asked the class to make a night and day book for a few days when Venus would be passing close to the moon. Joshua was so excited about this homework and worked very hard on it.

Perspective
Joshua has art class once a week in Kindergarten. I've always thought he was a great artist, but this goes beyond my thinking. They are working on lessons in perspective.
This is a drawing that Joshua made that depicts perspective.
Perspective as defined in the dictionary is:
1. a technique of depicting volumes and spatial relationships on a flat surface.
2. a visible scene, especially one extending to a distance
3. the state of existing in space before the eye:
4. the state of one's ideas, the facts known to one, etc
It is his perspective of my office which is down at the end of a long hall. I love that he drew me and him in the picture, but not only that, he drew us leaving the office! I love that perspective of any day at the office....at the end of a long day, I always get to leave and go home to my wonderful family.

I Heart Faces - By The Book
When I saw the the photo challenge this week was called "By The Book", I immediately thought of this photo. I borrowed this idea from a photographer friend a few years ago. I love the idea and I love this picture of my sweet boy!
