What happens to the day?

Surely I'm not the only person who feels like they run out of day (and energy) before they get their "to do" list completed. The last 10 days have just flown by....and yet, I really can't tell you what we've been doing. I'm ready for a snow, a really, really good snow...so maybe we won't have to go to work for a few days and time can slow down a bit. I doubt we'll be getting any snow soon since the temp today was close to 60. Whenever I talk about needing more time in my day, Ronnie reminds me, "Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble." Job 14:1 Therefore, I can only say that there are always pictures to be taken and laughs to be laughed and fun to be had. Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days:

Happy Valentine's Day!

I had to go to work today, but Ronnie and Joshua surprised me with Valentine's goodies when I got home. I am blessed with the sweetest husband and the most precious child.....

I, on the other hand, couldn't find the Valentine's cards that I bought for my sweet husband and precious child. You know those safe places where you hide things and never find them again? Well, apparently, I have a REALLY, REALLY good safe place!
Wishing you a wonderful day full of love and laughter!

Brother S. W. Causey

After church today, we went to visit Brother S.W. Causey in the hospital in Covington. Brother Causey has been a faithful member and deacon at Mt. Paran for 50+ years. He has opened services many, many times since we've been at Mt. Paran and one of his favorite verses is Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. I can't tell you how many times he has spoken on this verse, but not only that, his life exemplifies this verse. Brother Causey has also been a wonderful example to the people around him. Brother Gerald Autry today was talking with Brother Causey about times when he was in school and Brother Causey was the Superintendent of schools. The kids all respected Brother Causey because he was strict, but he was also fair.

I write all this to not only to rquest a special prayer for Brother Causey during his time of recovery, but I also write this for myself and pray that I can be this kind of example for Joshua.

Ronnie and I have talked about this many times recently because Joshua loves to put on Ronnie's shoes and walk around the house. This is a reminder to us that he watches how we walk, where we walk, as well as what we say and how we say it. Ronnie quotes to me Titus 2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works.

Brother Causey has given all those around him a pattern of good works to follow. I pray that we can provide the same pattern in our home and our lives.
Please keep Brother Causey in your prayers. Mt. Paran missed him tremendously today and we all want him back next Sunday.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Thank you to everyone for the happy birthday wishes, calls, cards, and gifts. Of course, my first birthday call was from my mommy (Hazy), who calls every year to sing Happy Birthday to me. :) Joshua and Ronnie sang to me as well as my sister, and many others!

Today when I got home from work, there was a BIG box waiting for me. It was so big that Joshua had been using it to climb up to the kitchen counter and, oh look - chocolate cake!!!!

And inside the box......

Joshua's first year video

Thanks again to Amber for my latest addiction to the blog and onetruemedia video montages. Thanks also to my sister, Cindy, for convincing me that all I had to do was try! Joshua's first birthday was actually in October, but since I just learned the blog thing and I loved Amber's video for Emma, I wanted to create one for Joshua. He's grown and changed so much and the time has passed much, much too quickly.....

Squeaker Sneakers

Every child (or everyone) needs a pair!! I'm sure most everyone has heard of Squeaker Sneakers, but we were just recently introduced. Joshua got a pair for Christmas from his grandmother, Hazy, and he just LOVES them! We love them because we can hear him wherever he has wandered. I'm sure you can get these shoes many places, but here is a website that carries them and where Hazy got Joshua's.

The theme this week seems to be climbing...

Joshua has been working on his climbing for awhile, but this week he seems to have mastered it:
