I ♥ Faces - Feet Week!

It's Feet Week at I ♥ Faces! There's nothing sweeter than baby feet. I love kissing Joshua's little feet. We have always played a game of pinching our noses and saying "shoeey your feet stink" and Joshua just laughs and says "no they smell like cookies!"

Sunday afternoon

Yesterday, we had a wonderful day of church and fellowship with our church family. Laura and Deron brought their grill and we had a cookout. The men cooked up hamburgers and hotdogs and the kids rode bikes and scooters. I wish I had gotten more pictures, but my camera is not cooperating very well these days. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but these pictures can't possibly describe the great day we had. I'm thankful I was able to catch a few glimpses for the memory book.

Ronnie has said that our children are building friendships that will last a lifetime. I love watching them and knowing that this is true. I look forward to many more days like this....

Lazy days

I remember as a kid, building tents in the living room with cushions, blankets, toys, whatever worked. We actually had one of those sectional couches so I usually had about 20 or more cushions to use for my tent. On the 4th of July we visited some of our friends who were camping. They were actually in a pop up camper, but Joshua thought it was the coolest thing ever. Since then, Joshua is all about tents.

This morning we built a tent (the best that mommy can do) out of the couch, a few chairs, cushions and blankets.

We've spent most of the morning playing inside the tent and inviting friends and animals to visit. Joshua has had so much fun, he even wanted to take a nap in the tent. Now remember the floor of this tent is the hardwood floor! I eventually convinced him to first lay on a blanket since he didn't want to get in his sleeping bag. He only wants to use the sleeping bag as a blanket. I know if I tried to nap on the floor, I wouldn't be able to move for the rest of the day, but he seems to be rather comfortable (and is even snoring).

I love these days at home with Joshua. I only wish there were more hours in the day...

Practice, practice, practice

Joshua has been practicing writing his letters this summer, especially his name. It seems he has grown up so much this summer. I can't believe he will be 4 years old soon.

If I do say so myself, I think he's a genius!

I love this little boy more than anything in this world!

Little Farmer

A few weeks ago, Joshua's class learned about planting and growing gardens. He brought home a little planter of peas. On the way home that afternoon the little planter actually tipped over in the car and everything dumped out in the floor. Partner that with the fact that I have absolutely no green thumb, whatsoever, and I didn't think the little seed had a chance. But Joshua has been faithfully watering the seed and over the last few days we've had quite a bit of growth, so tonight we transplanted it to a bigger planter.

Happy 4th of July

We spent the day with our friends - Anna, Matt, Madi, and Andrew.

Hilton Head 2009

We were able to enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation last week on the beaches of Hilton Head. I can't even describe what a wonderful time we had. The tides were extremely high this time and that seemed to bring in lots of excitement. We saw many starfish and collected lots of sand dollars and shells, and a bird (I think it was a crane) that seemed to enjoy the beach as much as we did. But also we got to see hundreds and hundreds of baby crabs! They were everywhere! Joshua was okay with the crabs at first, but when they decided to try to get in our bag and come home with us, he had had enough. At that point, Ronnie had to carry him on his shoulders any time we walked along the beach. No worries though. Ronnie can make that walk a thousand miles at least.
