A new haircut

Yesterday, Daddy and Joshua went to the barbershop together. I didn't realize that Joshua had so much hair until he came home with his new cut! It's much shorter than I expected, but it is, oh, so cute! As a sidenote, you can also see the latest bruise from one of Joshua's climbing accidents.

Folding clothes

Folding clothes seems to be the most daunting and time-consuming task. Joshua always wants to help, so maybe one day I can turn this task over to him! hahaha

Remember Yesterday?

My friend and co-worker, Pshyra, is a very talented writer. She has penned many wonderful children's books which I hope to see in print very soon, as well as many other writings and poems. Today was a typical day at work and then Pshyra read me her latest work. I asked her if I could post in on our blog because it's something I found to be very inspirational and I believe many others will as well.

Remember yesterday? That day that was before today? The promises that were broken. The dreams that faded. The pain and disappointment. The darkness that made us think that we'd never see tomorrow. That was yesterday. Remember? The things that didn't happen the way we believed they would. The injustice that we didn't deserve. That was yesterday. We stand here today in yesterday's tomorrow, looking back at yesterday like a slaughtered army that had no choice but to surrender tomorrow....once we stood up to it. And even now, as I look far in the distance, I see another battle ahead. I don't retreat. Instead, I sound my trumpet, draw my sword and run full speed ahead. I have no fear! For it is only another yesterday.

The Monkees....continued

Today Joshua surprised me with his new ability to scale the headboard on his crib. Looks like we'll be converting the crib to a toddler bed sooner than we planned.

Hey! Hey! We're the Monkees!

Remember a few months ago when I posted that climbing was the theme of the week? Well, we have now entered a new dimension of climbing!

The latest musical instrument at our house...

...the HARMONICA!

This video covers a couple days of practice. When Ronnie first brought it home, Joshua didn't like it, so it took a few weeks before he wanted to try to play it.

The first part of the video is the first day he would even pick the harmonica up. We were working on our nightly routine of "picking up the toys", but suddenly the harmonica became interesting! :) The second part of the video is a couple days later.
